WHAT I NEED FROM YOU

After I have decided whether or not I will work on your project , I have to determined just how big a project it will be and if I can book you into my schedule.  I have to make a rough estimation on how long it might take me to complete and how much I will have to charge for my time.

LIST OF THINGS I NEED TO KNOW:

  • How many pages are in your book, and what are its page dimensions.

  • Who is your audience (age group)?

  • Have you already made a storyboard--a plan for each page or specific areas of the story?  Or are you leaving that to me?

  • How many characters are in your story?

  • Is there a particular illustration in my portfolio that influenced you in contacting me to illustrate your book?  This helps me determine your vision for your story.

  • Where and when does the story take place?

I will have to read your script.  If you are uncomfortable with this , I understand.  HOWEVER, I will not be able to illustrate  something  I can not visualize.

Please do not fear that I will steal your plot.  New scripts are sent to illustrators all the time.  Why would I work months during my free time when I could get paid to do it in my work hours?  I have plenty of projects to do of my own without stealing yours.

**If you are still worried we can always sign a Do Not Disclose Contract.  You will find it on the contracts page. **
